Update:

The first Web 2.0 Startup Meetup was a great success! Around 30 entrepreneurs, techies and even some VCs showed up. Large quantities of sangria and tapas were consumed and a good time was had by all!

Thanks to Radar Networks, who kicked in some money to subsize the drinks (if your company would like to help sponsor the next event let us know).

Because this was so much fun and so well attended, we'll be doing this monthly in San Francisco. I'm thinking the first Thursday of every month. Next one is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, December 1 at 6 PM.

We'll blog about it to let you know, and we'll send you a reminder via the email list we will be starting as well. If you forgot to give us your email at the event shoot me an email at claw@wsfinder.com. We promise to limit the use of the email list so that people don't feel spammed to death.

To everyone who came, thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you next month along with new people you invite.

Sincerely, your hosts,

Chris Law and Nova Spivack

Now for some business... Can you help us with:

- Suggesting a place to hold the next event? Here are some criteria that I think we should use:

  1. It has a backroom or something where we can all hang out. I’d like for people to be able to move around and mingle instead of sitting down in one spot all night.
  2. People can eat, drink and get out for less than $30
  3. Accommodate about 40-50 people
  4. Muni/Bart Accessible
  5. Not ridiculously hard for someone in the SouthBay to get to. i.e. Not the Marina

Startup Meetup - San Francisco - NOVEMBER 3, 6 PM

WHY:

We'd like to get Web 2.0 folks together for drinks and conversation on a regular basis. We love Mike at Techcrunch for putting on the BBQs that he does but they're all down in the Peninsula and we live up in the city. Whether you're in a startup, or an established company, if you're working on the cutting-edge we hope you'll join us. And feel free to invite other people who you think should be included.

WHERE:

First one will be at Ramblas in the Mission. You can get map etc. details at Zvents.
