The first Web 2.0 Startup Meetup was a great success! Around 30 entrepreneurs, techies and even some VCs showed up. Large quantities of sangria and tapas were consumed and a good time was had by all!

Thanks to Radar Networks, who kicked in some money to subsize the drinks (if your company would like to help sponsor the next event let us know).
Because this was so much fun and so well attended, we'll be doing this monthly in San Francisco. I'm thinking the first Thursday of every month. Next one is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, December 1 at 6 PM.
We'll blog about it to let you know, and we'll send you a reminder via the email list we will be starting as well. If you forgot to give us your email at the event shoot me an email at claw@wsfinder.com. We promise to limit the use of the email list so that people don't feel spammed to death.
To everyone who came, thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you next month along with new people you invite.
Sincerely, your hosts,
Now for some business... Can you help us with:
- Suggesting a place to hold the next event? Here are some criteria that I think we should use:
| Suggested venue | Why is it good, where? | How to reach you |
| Varnish | Lots of space, restaurant that caters next door, centrally located | Chris Jones - chris at radarnetworks dot com |
| 21st Amendment, 2nd and Brannan SOMA | Beer, good food, close to Muni, Caltrain, I-280/101. Parking. | Guy Argo - guy at gofish dot com |
- Coming up with a cool name for this event? Add your suggestions here:
We'd like to get Web 2.0 folks together for drinks and conversation on a regular basis. We love Mike at Techcrunch for putting on the BBQs that he does but they're all down in the Peninsula and we live up in the city. Whether you're in a startup, or an established company, if you're working on the cutting-edge we hope you'll join us. And feel free to invite other people who you think should be included.
First one will be at Ramblas in the Mission. You can get map etc. details at Zvents.
